Biographical

David L. Cleary has practiced law in Vermont since 1970. For over 40 years, he has litigated both plaintiff and defense cases, including personal injury, toxic tort, product liability, aircraft disaster, professional liability, and commercial litigation, trying over 250 cases to verdict.  The increasing popularity of alternative dispute resolution and mediation in the last 10 to 15 years has seen a substantial increase in demand for Mr. Cleary's services as a mediator, particularly in cases of greater significance.  His many years of litigation practice as counsel for both defendants and plaintiffs has given him the background and experience to serve as one of Vermont's sought-after mediators, ENE evaluators, and arbitrators. He was (and remains) a member of Vermont's Federal Court Advisory Committee, which drafted the U.S. District Court of Vermont's Local Rules regarding Early Neutral Evaluation, and is proud to be one of the early neutral evaluators for Vermont.  He is active as a mediator and arbitrator in Vermont and adjoining jurisdictions.
